Erandathi Ekanayake

I am a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. I completed my PhD in Environmental Engineering at the University of Melbourne, where my research focused on modelling the effects of habitat network structure on population dynamics in dendritic river networks. I also hold an MSc in Industrial Mathematics and a BSc in Statistics and Operations Research with First Class Honours from the University of Peradeniya. My research interests include network modelling, ecological statistics, optimization modelling, and sustainability analysis. I am passionate about interdisciplinary work that bridges mathematical modelling with real-world environmental and industrial applications. My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences, and I continue to engage in collaborative research that supports sustainable development goals. In my teaching role, I have delivered undergraduate and postgraduate courses in subjects such as sustainable manufacturing, operations research, statistics, and decision sciences. I have supervised numerous final-year and postgraduate projects on topics including digital transformation in manufacturing, life cycle assessment, and environmental technology evaluation.
