Hazel D Quarterman
Hazel Quarterman is a third year at the University of Georgia, where she is a Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences major with an emphasis in Aquatic Sciences. Her interest in aquatic sciences was fostered by a childhood on Georgia’s coast, fishing with family and exploring the water. In recent years, Hazel has held positions as a grocery store cashier and a student assistant in a plant genetics lab. Today, she is a student assistant in libraries-general operations. From these experiences, she realized the importance of community work, and was inspired to combine her interest in community service and aquatic science by pursuing a career in outreach working with marginalized coastal communities.
