Mikala L'Hote
Mikala is an environmental scientist and researcher, with a passion for science communication and data visualization. Hailing from western Massachusetts, her curiosity has led her to pursue air and water quality related research throughout portions of the Northeast. Mikala is currently a Graduate Research Assistant with the Adirondack Watershed Institute, an organization dedicated to protecting clean water and conserving habitat across the Adirondack Park, a region in upstate New York. Her primary research involves investigating the impacts of road salt application on lakes within the Lake Champlain Basin. Additionally, Mikala serves as the Student Director for the North American Lake Management Society, where she continues to collaborate with students, academics, and lake professionals internationally.
Mikala graduated from Bard College with a B.A. in Environmental & Urban Studies and obtained her M.S. in Natural Resource Conservation at Paul Smith’s College, with a focus in Aquatic Resource Management.
