Ludmila S Brighenti
Ludmila is a professor at the State University of Minas Gerais (Brazil) with a background in Biological Sciences (UFSJ) and a Ph.D. in Ecology from UFMG. Her research focuses on aquatic ecosystems, particularly carbon dynamics, metabolism, and water quality in Brazilian rivers. She studies the impacts of mining dam failures in the Doce and Paraopeba basins and has expertise in high-frequency data and ecological databases. Ludmila is a member of GLEON and collaborates with research networks like RecRioDoce and PELD. She also leads outreach initiatives in environmental education and water resource management.
